The second volume, Green Growth (II): Korea’s New Development Strategy compiles more than 30 stories to present a comprehensive discussion of Korea’s push toward green growth.
The first part looks into the short- and long-term policy measures the Korean government promotes to put the nation on a new development path. The second chapter introduces the initiatives designed to make the living and natural environment around us greener, while the third section highlights efforts toward the development of renewable energy resources and clean technologies. The theme of the final chapter is the green lifestyle, the most important element in mitigating emissions and promoting the production and consumption of green products.
The authors of This book shares the view that although Korea had been slow to respond to climate change in the past, it will be able to rise as a leader in green growth, given its determination to make a fundamental shift in its development approach.
They point out that the key to Korea’s success in embarking on a new growth path lies in its ability to build the key foundations--political, social, economic, institutional and technological--required for a long-term growth model.
기후변화와 환경문제, 녹색경제 분야에서 국내외 최고 전문가들과 정책담당자들이 2009년 2월에서 8월까지 코리아헤럴드에 기고했던 글로, 녹색성장 관련 분야를 다각적으로 관통하도록 재구성하여 일반 독자들이 쉽게 이해하고 흥미롭게 읽을 수 있도록 엮었다.
