리차드 빌라데서(Richard Viladesau)가톨릭 사제이자 뉴욕 Fordham University 조직신학 명예교수다. 현대의 신학적 미학 논의에서 중심인물 중 한 명으로 연구 관심은 신학적 미학과 미학적 인식론, 기독교와 타 종교 안의 계시 가능성과 비교신학, 구원론 등이다. 대표적 저서로는 Theological Aesthetics, Theology and the Arts, 십자가에 대한 기념비적인 5부작 연구서 The Beauty of the Cross(고대와 중세), The Triumph of the Cross(르네상스), The Pathos of the Cross(바로크), The Folly of the Cross(근대), The Wisdom and Power of the Cross(현대와 탈현대) 등이 있다. 대표작
