Harold Courlander (1908 ~ 1996)는 미국의 작가로 자신이 쓰려는 소설의 영감을 얻고자 여행을
많이 했다. 미국 대륙의 원주민, 아시아인, 그리고 많은 아프리카 부족에 대해 연구하고자 평생 동안
많은 여행을 했다. 그러한 여행을 통해 얻은 이야기들을 그는 역사와 전래 이야기를 담은 많은 책들을 펴냈고 그곳에 인류의 이야기를 보존했다.
